Where Did It All Start?

The first recorded instance of window tinting as we know it started in America. This was around the time of World War II. One of the first companies that started window tinting is a business called EZ EYE FACTORY TINT. You can still find this kind of tint in 1940 Mercury Romangos or in 1958 Chevy Impalas. Window tinting back then was quite expensive. Back then, it was only available in car factories and is not easily accessible to the public. Being fairly new, a lot of car owners tried doing it at home to save on the fees. Since these metalized films contain a good amount of metal, they interfered with a lot of electronic gadgets such as radios and GPS equipment.
